Tokina 11-16

My lens collection is starting to feel complete. I already own a Sigma 30/1.4 and Canon 100/2.8 L. But the absence of a wide / ultra-wide felt pressing, especially in the light of my upcoming trip to the great white north.

Since I shoot with the Canon 7D, I have to look in the very beginning of the spectrum to find wide lenses. A 10 mm lens really is 16 mm, since you have to apply a 1.6 conversion ratio, as the sensor is not full-frame.

I think this was my hardest lens choice so far. No lens felt like the perfect combination of price / performance / usefulness for me. I considered many lenses like Sigma 8-16, Sigma 10 / 2.8 and many others.

I finally decided on the Tokina 11-16 / 2.8. This is the first zoom in my gear. But with only a 11-16 range, it's as close to being a prime as it could be.

These are all photos from the first weekend with the lens. Don't read to much from them, they've all gone through Photoshop. If you nag me I might put up the RAW's ;-)
